A journey of belonging. Mons Sana provides immersive, nature-based healing retreats and long-term reintegration support for veterans, first responders, trauma professionals, and others carrying the effects of trauma, chronic stress, and high-intensity service.
Our approach brings together multiple dimensions of healing. Depending on the program and the individual, participants may engage in functional wellness, breathwork, yoga and somatic practices, equine and animal-assisted experiences, peer support, community connection, and other therapeutic and integrative modalities. The goal is to help people reconnect with themselves, their families, their sense of purpose, and a community where they belong.
A retreat can create an extraordinary breakthrough. The harder question is what happens afterward. This is why Mons Sana is not built around a single retreat or intervention. We have created a longer journey that begins before participants arrive and continues long after they leave.
Participants prepare for the experience physically, mentally, and emotionally. During the retreat, they step away from the demands and distractions of everyday life and into an environment intentionally built around Safety, Love, and Community. They have space to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, examine the experiences and patterns that have shaped them, and begin imagining what life can look like beyond survival.
Then comes the part we believe matters most: integration.
Participants return home with continued support as they put what they experienced into practice in their marriages and families, relationships, careers, health, and daily lives. They remain connected to a community of people who understand the work and can walk alongside them. Over time, the journey moves beyond healing alone. Participants are encouraged to rediscover purpose, serve others, mentor those coming behind them, and eventually become leaders within their own families and communities.
We are not just trying to create an experience that someone remembers for the rest of their life. We are trying to help them build a life they no longer need to escape from.
"This method of treatment is life changing. I feel better than I have in years; my mental clarity, calmness, mood, and even my sleep schedule have significantly improved due to the treatment I received."

Structured, trauma-informed retreat experiences for veterans, service members, first responders, and families.

Relationships with people who understand the weight being carried, built to outlast the retreat itself.

Time with animals as part of building trust, regulation, and presence.

Simple, communal moments that rebuild a sense of belonging.

Programming for spouses, partners, and children, because reintegration is a family process.

Ongoing touchpoints after the initial retreat, so the community stays present over time.
Preparation → Retreat → Integration → Community → Service → Leadership
Healing begins before the retreat.
Participants begin preparing physically, mentally, and emotionally before they ever arrive. Through screening, individual preparation, community building, and intentional practices, we help participants understand where they are, what they hope to change, and what they need to feel safe entering the experience. Preparation creates the foundation for the deeper work ahead.
Healing was never meant to happen alone.
After the retreat, participants remain connected to people who understand the work they have done and the challenges of bringing that work home. Through peer connection, shared experiences, ongoing gatherings, and relationships built on trust, Mons Sana creates a community where people can continue to grow, be supported, and support one another.
Step away from survival and create space for something different.
Our immersive retreats remove participants from the demands, distractions, and routines of everyday life and surround them with nature, connection, and intentional support. Through a personalized combination of therapeutic, somatic, wellness, experiential, and community-based practices, participants have the opportunity to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and explore the experiences and patterns that may be keeping them in survival mode.
Healing creates the opportunity to give back.
As participants regain strength, connection, and purpose, we encourage them to turn outward. Service may mean mentoring another veteran or first responder, supporting a new participant, helping care for the land, volunteering in the community, or simply becoming more present for their families. Service transforms personal healing into something larger than ourselves.
A breakthrough matters when it changes the way you live.
The retreat may end, but the work continues. Integration helps participants make sense of what they experienced and translate insight into meaningful changes at home, in relationships, at work, and in daily life. Continued connection, peer support, reflection, and loved-one involvement help turn a powerful experience into lasting growth.
Those who have walked the path can help others find their way.
The final stage of the Mons Sana continuum is leadership. Participants who are ready can become mentors, peer supporters, volunteers, facilitators, and leaders within Mons Sana and their own communities. The goal is not simply to help people recover from what happened to them. It is to help them discover what they can do with what comes next.
"This journey is deeply sacred, woven with care and intention by the doctor and his team. Every step is thoughtfully curated—from robust preparation to integration—honoring both ceremonial traditions and medical expertise. Preparation is more than logistics; it is relationship-building, answering questions, and setting intentions. Healing happens in community.
I am profoundly grateful for this experience—the care, the wisdom, and the community that held me through it. This journey is a gift, one that continues to unfold long after the ceremony ends."
